About Me
Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Stayton, and I live in Arlington, TN. I hold a B.A. from the University of in English and a M.Ed. from Liberty University with a Reading Specialist endorsement. I am excited to be continuing my studies at Liberty again and am pursuing an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction—Instructional Design and Technology. I have six years of teaching experience in middle and high school English Language Arts.
I have been married for eleven years and have three children, a daughter who is 4 and sons age 6 and 8. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling.
Technology has become an important part of life for me personally and professionally. Here are some ways I use technology everyday.
My School Technology Use:
- Laptop & Desktop Computers: From planning to teaching to assessing to managing the classroom, I rely on my computer to do it all. Storing files on the cloud makes it convenient to work anywhere in or out of my classroom.
- Projector: The majority of whole-group instruction takes place using slides, videos, and games projected onto the whiteboard for students to see.
- Document Camera: I also like to project texts for annotation or student examples quickly using the document camera.
- Student Laptop Cart: Having access to a class set of laptops has increased student's use of online learning resources and their production of written and multimedia assignments.
- Learning Management System: Using a Learning Management System like Canvas allows for easy communication of assignment dates, details, grades, and feedback.
- Online Learning Experiences, Assessments, and Grading Tools: There are many websites and apps I use to improve my teaching and my students' learning.
